Cold Fronts - Get Right Back (Maxine Nightingale cover)
You’re going to recognize the chorus but probably not the original artist’s name to this soul-meets-disco hit from 1975, redone here by this rising Philly indie rock outfit. They’ve “been playing [it live] for a while. It was really one of the first song that the band learned to play together,” says band leader Craig Almquist.
Got tipped off to these guys back in July with their super catchy single “Strange Architecture”. They’re heading to the studio this month with talented Philadelphia producer Kyle ‘Slick’ Johnson to record a new EP that should be out sometime in early 2013. In the meantime, I recommend you grabbing their debut Pretty American EP that they just made free on Bndcmp.
